Centaur has predicted double-digit growth over the first six months of the current financial year, fuelled by the rapid growth in online advertising.

In a trading statement ahead of its interim results, Centaur - publisher of titles including Marketing Week, Design Week and Creative Review - said it expects to see group revenues to rise by 5 per cent compared with the same period in the previous financial year.

Advertising revenues are expected to be up 7 per cent compared with the same period in the previous year. These increases, it said, were being led by “rapid growth in online advertising” online payday loan.

Revenues from events and exhibitions are expected to be down, which Centaur said was due to the discontinuation of under performing events.

In the trading statement, the company predicted: “Centaur’s exposure to the current credit squeeze in global capital markets is limited to its leading portfolio of brands associated with the Mortgage Strategy title and this continues to be offset by growth in other markets.”

Centaur’s interim results are due to be announced on 28 February.
